June 5, 2021Catholic Health Australia has stepped up its advocacy and media efforts around the controversial issue of assisted suicide with the launch of an advertisement and a website to promote better-funded palliative care in Queensland.
Members in that state have got behind the ad and will help promote the website which enlists Catholics and the wider community to help in the campaign to fight against the legalisation of euthanasia.
It follows a number of articles reporting a broad coalition of support for more funds and greater access to palliative care.
CHA, its members, the Archdiocese of Brisbane, Palliative Care Queensland, and the AMA joined together to lobby politicians.
The Queensland Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2021 will now go to a Parliamentary committee before it is debated in September.
