June 4, 2021HOSPITAL PROVIDERS URGE QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT TO FOLLOW SA LEAD IN GRANTING ASSISTED SUICIDE OPT OUT
June 15, 2021Health-care workers have been stressed to the point of exhaustion by the COVID-19 health emergency.
Serving on the front lines of the global pandemic, they have been and continue to be exposed to high levels of stress as they go about their vital work.
In the face of the alarming threat to their health, the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development says we are all called, just like the Good Samaritan, to make ourselves available as neighbours; to become a community of men and women who make the fragility of others their own concern, for the sake of the common good (cf. Fratelli Tutti, n. 67).
To this end the Dicastery, one of the official congregations of the Holy See, is organising five video conferences on the theme of “Accompanying Health Care Workers in the Context of the Covid-19 Pandemic”, to be held on June 8, 9 and 10.
The conferences will help participants understand the impact of the pandemic on health-care workers and all those involved in the network of care and assistance.
Participants will hear testimonies, share experiences and seek to respond to an important question: How can we accompany health and pastoral workers involved on the front lines of the pandemic?
The five conferences are organised according to regions and time zones.
The best one for Australia will be held on June 10 at 6.30pm AEST.
